Understanding Land Transfer Tax
Provincial vs. Municipal Tax
All property purchases in Ontario are subject to Provincial Land Transfer Tax. However, if you buy within the City of Toronto, you must also pay a Municipal Land Transfer Tax. This effectively doubles the tax amount compared to buying in surrounding cities like Markham, Vaughan, or Mississauga.

First-Time Home Buyer Rebates
